A fire broke out at the Sein Gay Har shopping center on Maha Min Khaung Road, Hlaingthayar Township on the night of January 27 injuring four auxiliary firefighters, sources said.

Fire fighters and charity organizations went to Sein Gay Har shopping center on Maha Min Khaung Road, Hlaingthayar Township at 7:30 pm on January 27.

The fire started from the upper floor of the shopping center and then spread to other places, according to charity groups that arrived at the scene.

"It burned from the top floor of the shopping center. From there, the shopping center was set on fire. Relevant fire services departments and charity organizations put out the fire," said an official from a charity group that arrived at the scene of the fire.

It is reported that four members of the auxiliary fire brigade were injured due to the fire, and one of them was unconscious until around 11:00 pm on January 27.

"Four auxiliary firefighters were injured. Two of them were not seriously injured. One of them was unconscious until around 11:00 pm. It is known that he was touched by fire. The injured people are being treated at Hlaingtharya Hospital," said an official from the charity group who arrived at Hlaingtharya Hospital.

The fire was put out under the leadership of the Deputy Director General of the Myanmar Fire Services Department, and it is set as Level 3 fire breakout. According to the statement of the fire department, the fire was put out for more than 3 hours.

In Yangon Region, Level 3 fires breakout were extinguished twice from January 1 to 27. On January 13, a fire broke out at the Grand Royal Distillery in Hmawby Township, injuring 19 firemen and charity members.
