Fire broke out at a Chitsayar beverage distribution shop and ware house near AKK Shopping Center, U San Pe Ward, in Laydaunkkan Road, Thingangyun Township around 11:20 am on February 3.

Myanmar Fire Department set the fire as No-2 and sent fire engines to extinguish the fire. It took about 40 minutes to get the fire under control, the Department said.

“While I was shopping in the Thingangyun market, I saw smokes coming out from the Chitsayar shop. Soon, fire engines also came. It was very lucky that fire didn’t spread to the market,” said a man who witnessed the fire.

Chitsayar beverage distribution shop also sells food stuff and it was attached to a ware house at the back of the shop. Next to the shop is Thingangyun market and opposite is the AKK Shopping Center.

The cause of the fire is not yet known. A volunteer who helped in extinguishing the fire was wounded and some firemen got slight injuries, according to Myanmar Fire Department.
