A school bus was hit by bullets on Lashio-Muse Union Road near Lwesansok Mountain in northern Shan State on November 14, sources said.

The bus, owned by a private school from Kutkai, had its windows shattered as a result of the fighting, injuring a driver and teacher. They have been sent to Kutkai hospital, said a local.

Market and some shops from Kutkai are closed after the fighting and there are little passers-by seen on the roads in the town.

“Authorities stopped the vehicles coming from Nantphatkhar, Monglwe and Kutkai toll gate. When the army trucks parked near Kutkai market, shopkeepers closed their shops,” said Thaung Tun Oo from Byarmasoe social welfare association from Kutkai.

An armed group stopped the vehicles at a place between Kutkai and Nantphatkhar village and many trucks and passenger buses are returned to Kutkai.

Fighting broke out between government troops and Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) occurred near Kutkai on November 13 and trucks and passenger buses were waiting at Kutkai toll gate and Nantphatkhar village to cease the fighting.
