An explosion occurred at the Denko fuel station at the exit of Lashio town on the Lashio-Mandalay Union Road, northern Shan State at around 5:00 pm on September 27.

As a result of the blast, a passenger vehicle traveling between Muse-Lashio-NayPyiTaw-Tounggu and a vehicle that were filling up at the fuel station caught fire, and it was initially reported that one male passenger was killed and 8 males and 4 females were injured.

“We are in the bus. Suddenly there was an explosion and the fire next to it started, and everyone ran for their lives. The explosion occurred on our left side. The flame is big. We don't know the cause of the explosion. We found many were injured." said a female passenger who came from Muse in a passenger bus.

"I am going to Nay Pyi Taw from Laukkai. This happened while filling up at the fuel station outside the town. When it exploded, we all ran down." A person said.

The injured people are being transported to the Lashio Public Hospital by the vehicles of social assistance organizations in Lashio town.
