Families of Eleven Media Group (EMG) held the fourth Kathina donation ceremony at Yangon Buddhist University in Kyimyindine Township, Yangon Region, on the morning of November 7. 

On November 7 (Full Moon Day of Tazaungmon), 3 million kyats in cash by EMG and other requisites by its employees from various departments were donated to Rector Sayadaw Bhaddanta Vimala and lecturer Sayadaws of the university.

The EMG’s Kathina donation ceremony was graced by a total of 30 monks incluidng Rector Sayadaw. 

Rector Sayadaw delivered a sermon in commemoration of the donation.

There are over 400 monks and nuns studying at Yangon Buddhist University.

On October 30 also, the 14th Kathina donation ceremony of Eleven Media Group (EMG) families took place at the storm-resistant Thatdhamanyan monastery building in Thagyahinoh Village, Dedaye Township, Pyapon District, Ayeyawady Region.

The ceremony was attended by 38 monks from Thagyahinoh Village and its surrounding areas, who delivered a sermon and recited parittas.

Various kinds of alms including yellow robes were offered to the monks.

After dawn and day meals had been offered to the monks, members of the congregation were served with food.

The monastery building in Thagyahinoh Village was constructed as a cyclone shelter and donated by EMG and its friend doctors for villagers in the aftermath of the deadly cyclone Nargis in May 2008. 

EMG also held its 8th Kathina Robe offering ceremony at Pwint Tauk village monastery in Sidoktaya Township, Magway Region on October 28.

Due to the Mong Creek flooding in July 2015, Pwint Tauk village monastery, school and houses were flooded. EMG and well-wishers donated rice, edible oil and consumer goods to the village and also built and donated 100 million kyats’ worth of a reinforced concrete monastery.

EMG also donated an ordination hall, a bronze Buddha statue with a throne and a set of 28 Buddha statues.
