According to information from UMFCCI on 12 Oct, the rate of tests conducted on truck drivers and their helpers using Rapid Antigen Test Kits has been reduced to K10000 from the previous fixed amount of K20000.
It is stated that for the smooth flow of goods, the rate of testing truck drivers and their helpers has been reduced to K10000 per test from the previously fixed rate of K20000.
The Office of the State Counsellor announced that discussions are underway to test truck drivers and their helpers using Rapid Antigen Test Kits at a rate affordable to them.
At the video conference meeting held on 9 Oct. for the speedy and smooth flow of goods President of the National Level Central Committee for the Prevention, Control, and Cure of COVID-19 and State Councillor, Daw Aung San Suu Kyi attended the meeting.
In the meeting it was discussed that the stability of commodity prices must be ensured so that goods flow rapidly and smoothly. Difficulty of truck drivers and their helpers to stand the expense of testing using Rapid Antigen Test Kits was also discussed to co-ordinate between States and Regions to limit the rate that is affordable to them. The State Counsellor gave the necessary guidelines to make proper decisions.
Union Minister from the office of the Union government U Min Thu, Union Minister for Health and Sports, Dr Myint Htwe, President of Naypyidaw Council ,Dr Myo Aung, Chief Ministers from Regions States, Central Committee Secretaries, U Zaw Than Thinn and Dr Thet Khaing Win also took part in the video conference.
It is learnt that the Negative results of the truck drivers' and their helpers' COVID-19 test results are valid for only 72 hours, and if that time is over they will have to take the test at the entry gates of regions and states.
In transporting goods truck drivers and their helpers must have the health clearance issued by the ministry of health and sports and that those responsible for the transportation of the goods must stand the necessary expenses.
In addition, it is known that the Negative result of COVID-19 test is valid for 72 hours only, and they can get affected from those infected with the disease
