Course on COVID-19 preventive measures conducted for those engaged in election

Yangon—Ministry of Health and Sports plans to conduct the course on the preventive measures against COVID-19 for staff who will compile voter lists, polling station staff, and volunteers, through the video conferencing method. 

The Ministry of Health and Sports is working on the prevention and control of COVID-19 at the multi-party democracy election, in cooperation with other relevant ministries including the Union Election Commission (UEC) and other advisors. 

The ministry has given advice on the SOP for the preventive measures against COVID-19 to be followed by all people such as voters, voter list collectors,  polling station staff, volunteers, media, and observers.

The UEC announced the constituencies for the upper house, the lower house, region, and state and ethnics affairs for 2020 General Election, via its Facebook, on the evening of 29 June. 

According to the UEC’s statement, the UEC has designated 330 constituencies for the lower parliament, 168 for the upper house parliament, 644 for the region and state parliaments, and 29 for ethnics affairs.
