Miners at copper mines in Latpadaung, Sabei and Kyaysin Mountains within Yinmarpin District, Sarlingyi Township, protested against the coup by wearing red armbands on February 5.
The mines, made up of workers from Myanmar Wanbao, Myanmar Yan Tse, Sino Hydro and more, gathered together by wearing their red arm bands and held up signboards that condemn the coup, their desire against military dictatorship and for power over civilians to come from civilians.
Ever since the miltiary took over power on February 1, civil servants as well as private sector workers in Sagaing Region had protested against the move by joining the red ribbon campaign.
