Clashes between RCSS/SSA and military columns occurred near Haikhin village, Manhero, northern Muse on August 4 around 2:30 pm.

As a result, locals fled to the neighbouring China.

“Military column entered from Naungkho and they met outside of the village. When the villagers heard gunshots, no one came out from their houses. Village heads didn’t know the situation as they were at the court hearing. Villagers from Haikhin and Kyayton villages fled to neighboring China. There is no causality. As peace negotiating is taking place, we want them to hold discussion until a solution is appeared. We don’t want civilians live in danger,” said MP Sai Kyaw Thein.

Contact was made to the Muse Police Station but they replied that they are still investigating the incident.

Both groups are based in Namkham, north of Shweli River and south-west of Muse.
