Police arrested four election commission members from Chaung U Township in Monywa District, Sagaing Region for using illegal election rubber stamps on November 5 evening. But, they were released on bill the next day.

“National League for Democracy (NLD) logged a complaint over the case to the police station in Chaung U police station. We lodged a complaint on November 3. On November 5, police investigated those involved in the case. They were released on bill on November 6. They are from Hga Lone Tin village sub-election commission and 2 from that village. They collected advance voting on early November 3 at the 3 polling booth stations. When they took advance vote from an elderly lady, a polling booth station attendant noticed that there was no UEC symbol on the stamp. That’s why we opened a lawsuit against them,” said Myo Win, NLD candidate.

In Chaung U in Monywa Township, there are 15300 eligible voters above 60 years who can cast advance votes totaling 86308 other voters with 86 polling stations.
