Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC) and Prime Minister, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, met with Chairman of the National Assembly of Belarus, Mr. Igor Petrovich Sergeenko, on the afternoon of March 7, during his official state visit to Belarus.
The visit follows an invitation from Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko. The meeting took place at the National Assembly building in Minsk, where Senior General Min Aung Hlaing signed the parliamentary guestbook and observed ongoing parliamentary proceedings.
During their discussions, the two leaders addressed cooperation between the legislative bodies of both countries, collaboration on law-making processes, and Myanmar’s preparations for holding free and fair elections. They also discussed Myanmar’s participation in observing Belarus’s general elections and the possibility of Belarus sending an election monitoring team to Myanmar. Strengthening bilateral ties and legislative cooperation between the two nations were also key topics of discussion.

Present on the occassion were Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, the Joint Secretary of the Council General Ye Win Oo, council member General Nyo Saw, Admiral Moe Aung, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs U Than Swe, Myanmar’s Ambassador to Russia U Thit Linn Ohn, and other delegation members.
