A magnitude 4.5 earthquake struck an area about six miles northwest of Aungmyaythazan Township in Mandalay Region at around 8:30 pm. on July 29, according to the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology (DMH).

The earthquake occurred at 8:32:45 pm. Myanmar Standard Time, with its epicenter located at approximately 22.05 degrees north latitude and 96.02 degrees east longitude. The earthquake originated at a depth of about 15 kilometers.

According to the DMH, the earthquake was centered within Myanmar, approximately six miles northwest of Aungmyaythazan Township and about six miles northwest of the Mandalay Seismological Observatory.

The tremor was classified as a relatively weak earthquake with a magnitude of 4.5.
