China Enterprises Chamber of Commerce in Myanmar (CECCM) has dismissed the rumours that planes carrying Chinese IT technicians arrived in Myanmar, according to a press release issued by the Chinese embassy on February 10.

The embassy quoted the statement of CECCM as saying that currently, false reports go viral online that several planes from China arrived in Myanmar carrying staff of information technology.

According to the confirmation made by CECCM, planes flying regularly between China and Myanmar are just cargo ones carrying import products such as “seafood”. As it is just a rumour, people are requested not to believe and spread the rumour.

On February 11, protests in front of the Chinese Embassy in Yangon were seen carrying signs that refers to “seafood”.
