A mine blasted at Yankont Bridge linking Kawkareik- Yankont-Naunghnaing village roads and about 120 feet of the bridge was destroyed according to sources.

Armed groups set up a mine at Yankont Bridge in Kawkareik Township and an explosion occurred around 6:00 am on July 3. Due to the explosion, the bridge was destroyed about 120 feet which was originally 160 feet long and 20 feet wide which was a reinforced concrete bridge and it was no longer accessible.

Officials are investigating those involved in the attack in accordance with the security measures and at the same time, repair works are being carried out.
