A landmine explosion occurred near Doneto village in Kyaukkyi Township, leaving a bamboo cutter injured.
On November 29, at around 10:40 a.m., security forces inspected the situation after a male patient was admitted to Kyaukkyi Township People’s Hospital in Bago Region with injuries caused by a landmine explosion. The victim, identified as U Kyi Aye, a 70-year-old resident of Doneto village, was reportedly cutting bamboo in a forested area approximately a furlong west of Kyun Oo Monastery when he accidentally stepped on a landmine, resulting in injuries from the explosion.
A similar incident occurred earlier on October 10 near Mone village in the same township. At around 1:30 p.m., Daw Mar Aye, a 45-year-old resident of Mone village, was working in a nearby field when a landmine exploded. She sustained injuries from the explosion and was transported to Taungoo Township People’s Hospital for treatment.
