
The Ayeyarwady Foundation has opened temporary hospitals for the earthquake-hit Mandalay General Hospital and Kandaw Nadi Hospital.
The Ayeyarwady Foundation, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, has opened a 50-bed temporary hospital with 12 HDUs for the earthquake-hit Mandalay General Hospital on April 6, and a 150-bed temporary hospital with six HDUs for the Kandaw Nadi Hospital in Mandalay on April 8. Efforts are ongoing to open 100-bed temporary hospitals for the Mandalay Orthopedic Hospital and Sagaing Township General Hospital as soon as possible.
The Ayeyarwady Foundation announced it would like to express its gratitude to all those who have helped to build and open these temporary hospitals.
Similarly, the Ayeyarwady Foundation, in consultation with officials from the Mandalay City Development Committee, is taking responsibility for the demolition of the Mandalay Ma Soe Yein Taik Thit building, which was destroyed by the earthquake, with machinery, vehicles from Max Myanmar Construction. The foundation has donated 75 million kyats to the 26 monks who died in the collapse of the main building, 49 injured monks who are receiving medical treatment, 15 million kyats to the 500 monks who are studying, 35 million kyats for 10 days of meals for monks and 250 rice bags, totaling 140 million kyats.
Similarly, in Bong Oh Village in Mandalay, where four mosques and about 100 houses were destroyed by the earthquake, the Ayeyarwady Foundation has provided 500,000 kyats each to the surviving families of the 139 people who died and 100 people who were seriously injured, rice, dry food, clean water along with sympathy funds for those who lost their homes, totaling 150 million kyats in assistance.
In addition, the Ayeyarwady Foundation has provided 500,000 kyats each and 350 bags of rice, totaling 100 million kyats, to the families of the 176 victims of the earthquake in Minlan Ward, Sagaing City, where many houses, including three mosques, were destroyed.
The Ayeyarwady Foundation provided financial support to social relief organizations and volunteers who carried out rescue work at the U Hla Thein Veikman in Ma Soe Yein Taik Houng Monastery in Mandalay, which was destroyed by the earthquake, provided food and fuel to international relief organizations, and donated cash to monks who lost limbs in the earthquake and are receiving medical treatment, totaling 100 million kyats of donation.
Similarly, a donation of 10 million kyats and 125 packages of water bottles, was made to the Thakditha Thelashin nunnery in Sagaing Mountain, which suffered heavy damage due to the earthquake.
The Ayeyarwady Foundation is providing equipment such as mini excavator, wheel loader, dump truck, etc. to carry out the work of clearing and removing earthquake-damaged buildings in Sagaing Region, and water bowsers to meet the needs of drinking water. It is also providing 30 equipment such as 100 tonnes and 35 tonnes mobile crane, excavator, wheel loader, dump truck, mini excavator, water bowser, etc. for relief efforts in Mandalay, Nay Pyi Taw, Aungban and other areas.
The Ayeyarwady Foundation is providing rice, dried noodles, food items and clean drinking water, constructing tents for temporary accommodation, repairing damaged roads in Nay Pyi Taw with machinery, and filling in areas where landslides have occurred.
In addition, the Ayeyarwady Foundation and Max Energy are providing free fuel for social organizations carrying out relief work in earthquake-affected areas, international relief organizations’ machinery, vehicles, generators, fire engines, and rescue vehicles, and are providing fuel in fuel bowsers to relief work sites. They are also donating money and clean water bottle packages to some social aid organizations. The Ayeyarwady Foundation announced it will do its best to help the earthquake-affected people, in collaboration with Max Myanmar Group and AYA Financial Group.
