About 69,909 gallons of illegal gasoline worth more than 735 million kyats, 11 fuel bowsers, fuel storage tanks and related equipment were seized in some states and regions from October 5 to December 14, according to the Ministry of Information.

About 3,780 gallons of illegal diesel stored in 84 45-gallon fuel drums were found on a vehicle parked at Yanlin Aung Bus Terminal in Mandalay Region on October 5, and about 2,275 gallons stored in 65 35-gallon fuel drums were found on a vehicle in Monywa town of Sagaing Region on October 8. On October 24, about 3,780 gallons stored in 84 45-gallon fuel drums of illegal gasoline were carried on two tricycles in front of the ward office on the Kannar road of Monywa. On November 1, about 490 gallons stored in 14 35-gallon fuel drums were found on a tricycle on a road in the back of Mangyi Pin Market in Monywa. On November 30, about 20 700-gallon fuel drums were found unattended on Kannar Road in Kwaygyi Ward, Monywa. On December 12, four fuel bowsers carrying 36,877 gallons of fuel illegally were arrested at milepost No. 45/3 on the Mandalay-Singu Road section of Mandalay Region. On December 13, a fuel bowser carrying 6,000 gallons of illegal gasoline was arrested near the Myitnge Bridge of Amarapura Township, Mandalay Region. On December 14, 3,386 gallons of gasoline stored in an illegal underground storage tank in a compound in Faye Kyung Village, Amarapura Township, Mandalay Region. A 150-gallon plastic drum, six 50-gallon iron drums and a 50-gallon plastic drum were seized from a vehicle that was queued twice and purchased fuel at a Denko filling station in Hlaingtharya Township, Yangon Region. On December 15, ten 50-gallon diesel drums were seized from a vehicle that was sold diesel near Kyauktai bus stop, Ayeyawun Road, Thaketa Township. On December 16, gasoline illegal storing in fuel drums and related equipment in a monastery compound next to Dagon-Thilawa road in Kyauktan Township, Thanlyin District, Yangon Region, were seized. On December 18, 14 storage tanks with a capacity of 800 gallons and 720 gallons of diesel fuel, two 800-gallon white fuel bowsers and two 800-gallon fuel tanks were seized along with the owner in a compound in Lakepoke Village, Hmawby Township, Yangon Region. It was reported that 6,857 gallons of diesel stored in 11 storage tanks, 2,750 gallons of 92 Ron stored in 55 fuel drums, 16 emptied fuel drums, a white Hyundai fuel bowser with 1,370 gallons of diesel and a white Isuzu fuel bowser were seized from other compound.

From December 10 to 15, 17 cases of illegal fuel sales were reported in Ayeyawady Region, and about 719 gallons of fuel and accessories used in distribution and sale were seized. In Nay Pyi Taw Council of the Union Territory, from December 10 to 14, eight cases of illegal fuel sales were reported, and about 100 gallons of fuel and accessories used in the distribution and sale were also seized.

It is reported that about 69,909 gallons of illegal gasoline worth more than 735 million kyats, 11 fuel bowsers used in the transportation of fuel and related equipment used in distribution and sale, including illegal unlicensed fuel storage tanks, were seized and a case is being opened in accordance with the relevant legal procedures.
