Authorities defused an explosive device found inside the vehicle parked near Linthiri Mall (1), Ward 4 on Bayintnaung Road in Myawady, Kayin State October 18, sources said.

"They said it was an explosive device installed on the Pajero IO car parked on the side of Linthiri Mall (1), at the intersection of Bayintnaung Road and U Aung Zeya Road. They said it would be very strong because there were also gas cylinders next to it," said a local from Myawady town.

It is said that the traffic road has been closed since 12 o'clock in the afternoon on that day and an inspection is being carried out.

“Traffic is limited on Bayintnaung Road as it is dangerous. It is also close to No.1 Basic Education High school, a police station and a hospital, so those who go there have to go the other way. It was learned that the students were also left from the west gate of the school," said a resident on Bayintnaung Road.

 It is reported that what is believed to be a bomb installed on the vehicle was defused at about 4:30 pm on October 18.
