The arrest of AA Chief Major General Tun Myat Naing’s brother-in-law is associated with the seizure of explosive devices in Mandalay, said Zaw Htay, Spokesperson of the President Office, at a press briefing at the Presidential Residence in Nay Pyi Taw on October 25.

“The main point is Thailand deported AA Chief Major General Tun Myat Naing’s brother-in-law and younger sister. There is no agreement between Myanmar and Thailand on the handover of culprits. They were found in Thailand. They returned to Yangon via Chiang Mai. The police arrested them at Yangon International Airport and are scrutinizing them. According to the latest development, the arrest is linked to the seizure of explosive devices in Mandalay,” Zaw Htay added.

Myanmar Police Force arrested the duo at Yangon International Airport. His brother-in-law is a taxi driver and his younger sister, a tailor. Thai police have some facts about them. Tomorrow, officials from the Myanmar Police Force will go to Thailand to cooperate with Thai Police, he continued.
