The army occupied a base of Kachin Independence Army (KIA) in Waimaw Township, Kachin State and seized weapons and ammunitions, announced the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Services on December 4.

The army column encountered with the KIA forces about three miles northwest of Nantsan Village in the township on November 27 and the KIA retreated to their base. The army found the base and seized it, said the announcement.

The army found a body with KIA uniform, a 107 MM rocket launcher and a rocket, a 60 MM mortar and four mortar shells, four M-22 rifles and 24 cartridges containing 216 bullets, two hand grenades, 19 remote controls, 22 circuit chips with battery attached, one binocular, two icons, 12 tents, 20 bunkers and other related things, according to the announcement.
