Army seizes drugs worth over Ks91 B within six days

The military seized narcotic drugs worth over Ks91 billion and related equipment in Kutkai Township, announced the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Services on March 4.

The army found four various kinds of narcotic blenders, ten freezers, four washing machines, six boilers, 17 glasstream pots, three pressing machines, 269 50-gallon barrels of acid, 83 five-gallon acid containers, two three-crown six-wheeled trucks, 252 bags of various kinds of white raw material, 58 bags of chemical fertilizers, 15 bags of bone charcoal, 45 assorted soap boxes, 185 large white pails, six tablet counting machines, one car-engine attached air-conditioned container, 60,000 tables bearing 88/1 markings, about 2,500 grams of broken stimulant tablets, about 39,600 grams of heroin powder, steel tray and plastic bowls in the warehouses and other buildings at Lwehkam Village and surrounding areas about 4,000 meters east of Khaungkha Village, Kutkai Township in northern Shan State in the morning of March 4, it said.

The security troops will systematically transfer the seized drugs and related equipment to authorities concerned, it said.

The total seizures of drugs and related equipment in and around Kaungkha and Lwehkam villages from February 28 to March 4 were 43,825,000 stimulant tablets, 127,140 grams of heroin, five lumps of solid heroin (1.6 kilogram), 2,650 grams of broken stimulant tablets, 12.5 kilograms of ICE (at a total estimated street value of over Ks91 billion), 99 kinds of equipment used in refining drugs and related equipment (at a current value of over Ks1 billion) and drugs and related equipment valued at over Ks93 billion in total. Security measures are continued in the area, it said.
