Acting President & SSPC Chairman Senior General Min Aung Hlaing visits Harbin Institute of Technology, Harbin Electric Corporation

Acting President and Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, visited the Harbin Institute of Technology and Harbin Electric Corporation.

Acting President and Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, who is currently on a working visit to the People’s Republic of China, traveled from Beijing to Harbin on September 4.

The delegation departed Beijing Capital International Airport at 8 a.m. local time and was seen off by officials from the Beijing Municipal People’s Government. They arrived at Harbin Taiping International Airport at 9:30 a.m., where they were welcomed by Chinese Deputy Minister–level official and other authorities.

In Harbin, the Acting President visited the Harbin Institute of Technology. He was received by the institute’s president, Mr. Han Jie Cai, and senior officials. At the institute’s museum, the delegation viewed exhibits on missile production, rocket and satellite development, nuclear and hydrogen bomb research, aerospace advancements, lunar exploration, space missions, and astronaut achievements. Discussions focused on possible cooperation in aerospace technologies, and the institute presented Min Aung Hlaing with a scale model of a space station.

Later in the afternoon, the delegation visited Harbin Electric Corporation, where they were welcomed by company executives. They watched a presentation on hydropower, wind, solar, nuclear, and coal-fired electricity generation, as well as on green energy initiatives and AI-driven machinery production. The Acting President exchanged views on potential cooperation in Myanmar’s hydropower sector before gifts were exchanged.
