Bago General Hospital issued a statement on April 8 stating that a patient who was declared clear from COVID-19 by the Ministry of Health and Sports on April 7 was in serious condition on April 8 at 9; 00 pm. He is now under intensive care according to Bago Hospital.

The patient is a 17 years old male from Kyaikhto. He suffered high temperature, stomach pain and when took X-ray, his lungs showed lungs inflammatory symptoms. Therefore, Bago COVID-19 Critical Management (CCM Team) set him as PUI case and specimens were sent to National Health Laboratory (Yangon) and underwent examination.

According to the statement issued by Ministry of Health and Sports on April 7, he was cleared from COVID-19 and Bago Hospital also made a statement on that day, too. Unfortunately, his conditions were worsened on April 8 evening. 

At Bago Hospital, there is a patient at infectious disease department and 2 at hospital quarantine room.  They are in stable condition according to the statement made by the Bago Hospital on April 6.

In order to prevent the spread of COVId-19 in Bago Region, an isolation unit has been opened in Bago since April 7.
