A total of 5,574 brand new cars were sold in Myanmar within four months up to April in 2019, increasing by 50 % compared to the same period of last year, according to the report of ASEAN Automotive Federation.

The report of ASEAN Automotive Federation stated that 349,625 were sold in Thailand, 337,892 in Indonesia, 193,028 in Malaysia, 99,247 in Viet Nam, 33,702 in Singapore, 5,574 in Myanmar and 3,764 in Brunei. Auto sale now is lower than the last year in Indonesia. The sale of brand new autos decreased by 8.7 % in the whole ASEAN automobile market. But Myanmar has increased by 50 % and it is the highest development.

A total of 4,168 brand new autos were sold in Myanmar in 2016 , 82,25 in 2017, and 17,524 in 2018 respectively. 1,740 units were sold in January in 2019, 1,396 in February, 1,483 in March and 955 in April. These sales were up 1,854 compared than the same period of the previous year on 49.8 %.
