The 14th regular meetings of the second Union Parliament in Nay Pyi Taw ended on December 20.

Those regular meetings started on November 4 and ended after the 15th day.

"Regarding the parliamentary tasks, the rough timetable for holding regular parliamentary meetings in 2020 has been announced. I hope individual members of parliament and groups of parliamentary representatives will have preparatory tasks for the coming parliament sessions," said Union Parliament Speaker T Khun Myat.

The 14th regular sessions of the second Lower House of Parliament and Upper House of Parliament also concluded on December 19.

"As today is our democracy transition period, we all have to work in unity for the good sake of our State and people. We must be aware that unity is strength. In retrospect, we had to learn lessons that the country suffered when we were divided," said Lower House Speaker T Khun Myat.

Regardless of any party or organization, all have the duty to work for the development of the country and the people, he commented.

During the 18-days parliamentary sessions of the Lower House, a military MP took a parliamentary oath, the reports of 17 Lower House committees were approved and 10 research papers were circulated.

During the sessions of the Upper House also, five short papers were issued and 46 MPs handled 22 of 49 questions, said Upper House Speaker Mann Win Khaing Than.
