Myanmar reported 1,145 new Covid-19 cases during the past 24 hours after testing 25,156 lab samples, the Ministry of Health reported at 8pm on February 8.
The lab samples were tested from 8pm of February 7 to 8pm of February 8.
From the start of the outbreak to 8pm of February 8, 6,571,493 lab samples were tested nationwide, 539,554 cases detected and 19,310 patients died.
On February 8 also, 211 patients were allowed to be discharged from hospitals bringing the total number of those discharged to 514,434.
The samples were tested in labs under the MOH, using GeneXpert machines in hospitals in Nay Pyi Taw Council, all regions and states, at No.1 1,000-Bed Military Hospital in Yangon, at No.2 1,000-Bed Military Hospital in Nay Pyi Taw, at private hospitals and labs and using Covid-19 Rapid Antigen Diagnostic Test in hospitals and public health departments in Nay Pyi Taw Council, all regions and states.
