Asian Football Confederation (AFC) held draw for AFC Cup 2019 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on November 22.
Myanmar club, Yangon United FC drew with Vietnam, Singapore and Cambodia clubs in Group F. Another Myanmar club, Shan United FC drew with Philippines, Indonesia and Vietnam clubs in Group G. Shan United met with Philippines’ club Ceres in two consecutive years and they will manage to end their bad result in 2018 tournament. Yangon United FC is eligible to compete in first round of AFC Champions League knock-off stage and if they reach the final stage, Zwekapin United FC, which stood third place in Myanmar National League, will replace them in the competition. Winner of Indonesia Super League is not emerged as the super league season is not finished yet. Yangon United FC, Ceres Negros from Philippines and the champion of Indonesia Super League from ASEAN zone are eligible to compete in the first round of AFC Champions League knock-off stage.
The group matches will play from February 26 to May 15 in home and away. The AFC divided five zones: East Asia, West Asia, ASEAN, South Asia and Middle. The champion of West Asia zone will be automatically competed in the final. The champions of other four groups will be played from semi-finals and final and the winner from those four teams will be competed with West Asia zone champion in the final.
