President U Min Aung Hlaing arrives in Laos for state-level goodwill visit

At the invitation of Lao President Thongloun Sisoulith, President U Min Aung Hlaing arrived in the Lao People's Democratic Republic on the morning of July 3 for a state-level goodwill visit.

President U Min Aung Hlaing and his wife, Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, accompanied by a high-level Myanmar delegation, arrived at Wattay International Airport in Vientiane, where they were accorded a warm welcome.

Upon their arrival, the President and his wife were received by the Lao Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and his wife, senior Lao government officials, the Myanmar Ambassador to Laos and his wife, and the Myanmar Military Attaché and his wife.

A guard of honour welcomed the Myanmar delegation at the airport. Welcome banners were displayed, the national flags of Myanmar and Laos were flown, and Lao scouts lined the route to greet the visiting delegation.

President U Min Aung Hlaing and the high-level delegation are paying the state-level goodwill visit to Laos from July 3 to 5 at the invitation of President Thongloun Sisoulith.

According to the Lao Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the visit commemorates the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Laos and Myanmar.
