Temporary hospital opens in Falam, Chin State to provide medical services

A temporary hospital has been opened in Falam, Chin State, where medical treatment and healthcare services are now being provided, according to official reports.

On June 30, Deputy Minister for Construction U Myo Myint, accompanied by members of the Chin State Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Committee, traveled by road from Tedim to Falam. During the trip, the delegation inspected the condition of the Tedim–Thaingngin–Falam road and reviewed operations at the temporary hospital, where medical services are being delivered to local residents.

The delegation also inspected the Tedim–Thaingngin–Falam road section and the Var Bridge, assessing damage caused by terrorist-related incidents. The Deputy Minister instructed officials to carry out the necessary repairs and maintenance to ensure safe and convenient travel for the public.

He further emphasized the importance of preventing flooding on roads and bridges during the rainy season and called for advance preparations by relevant authorities to respond to potential landslides and road blockages, ensuring uninterrupted transportation throughout the monsoon period.

The Deputy Minister and his team, along with members of the state, district, and township-level rehabilitation and reconstruction committees, visited the temporary hospital in Falam, and discussed with the town leaders, hospital superintendent, and hospital staff the status of the temporary hospital’s preparation and management, the status of the mobile operating room, the availability of water, the availability of electricity, the possibility of further expansion of the hospital, the availability of medicines, and the status of medical treatment.

A total of (90) medical and public health staff, including the hospital superintendent, are providing medical treatment to (50) outpatients and (8) inpatients at the temporary hospital in Falam. As of June 30, the hospital has provided medical care to a total of (1,088) patients and (24) patients have been vaccinated.
