The Mon State Hluttaw has approved the appointment of seven state ministers, three ethnic affairs ministers, the state attorney general, auditor general, chief justice, and three high court judges.

The approvals were made during the sixth day of the first regular session of the third Mon State Hluttaw on April 7.

Nominations submitted by the incoming chief minister and relevant authorities were reviewed and confirmed by the parliament. Several appointees are current officeholders who will continue in their respective roles.

The parliament also recorded the appointment of ethnic affairs ministers representing Bamar, Kayin, and Pa-O communities.

In addition, the state attorney general and auditor general were approved, along with the chief justice and three judges of the Mon State High Court—many of whom are serving incumbents.

The session will continue on April 9.
