Sightseeing train routes on PyinOoLwin-Goteik-PyinOoLwin, Kalaw-Shwenyaung-Kalaw and Taunggyi-Pawmu-Taunggyi sectors attracted many passengers in February, according to sources.

Due to the high number of passengers on the Taunggyi-Pawmu-Taunggyi (round trip) scenic train route, the train was operated twice a day from Taunggyi Station at 9 am and 1:30 pm on February 14, with a total of 461 passengers and one morning scheme on February 15, with 237 passengers.

The Taunggyi-Pawmu journey is 11.41 miles long and takes about 1.5 hours. It departs from Taunggyi Station at 9 am. It stops for 15 minutes at Thithein Station to view the natural beauty of Bawa Thanthaya roundabout. It arrives at Paumu Station at 10:30 am and stops for 30 minutes to turn the train back towards Taunggyi. It departs from Paumu Station at 11 am and arrives at Taunggyi Station at 12:30 pm. Similarly, the journey that departs from Taunggyi Station at 1:30 pm and arrives at Taunggyi Station at 5 pm.

Similarly, on February 14, the Kalaw-Aungban-Heho-Shwenyaung (round trip) (Heho) Bawa Thanthaya scenic train tour was operated by a special train charter as a package, and 47 passengers from a private tour group boarded it.

The PyinOoLwin-Goteik-PyinOoLwin scenic train route has been operating on weekends and holidays since December 19. Until January, 621 passengers were transported on regular RBE train routes, 432 passengers were transported on RBE train charters, and 1,140 students and teachers were transported on chartered trains, totaling 2,193 passengers.

Due to the high number of passengers during the February holiday period, the Goteik (1) and (2) regular RBE train routes were operated with a large train consisting of one upper class and five ordinary class coaches. A total of 582 passengers were transported on two days, February 14 and 15. Three upper class RBE train trips were carried on package RBE train charters from February 10 to 16. Two regular RBE coach trips and one regular RBE coach trip, carrying a total of 232 passengers, were carried on a chartered train on February 11, transporting 240 students and teachers from Mother Love Private School. A total of 3,247 passengers have been transported since the start of the service.

The PyinOoLwin-Goteik-PyinOoLwin RBE train trip can carry 40 passengers. The Goteik (1) RBE train departs from PyinOoLwin Station at 8:00 am and arrives at Goteik Station at 11:30 am. The Goteik (2) RBE train departs from Goteik Station at 12:30 pm and returns to PyinOoLwin Station at 4:00 pm. It will stop at Paek Kauk, Wet Wan, Sam Se, and Naung Cho Stations along the way. Similarly, the RGC train, which can accommodate 20 people, is running from Goteik Station to the sightseeing spot over Goteik Viaduct at a rate of 5,000 kyats per person.

For the above sightseeing tours, if the passengers want to rent a RBE (or a full train) as a package, they can contact the station manager (special class) PyinOoLwin for three days in advance, and for the Kalaw-Shwenyaung round trip, special train rentals with a package will be arranged through the station manager (in charge) Kalaw.

Myanma Railways under the Ministry of Transport and Communications is operating weekly sightseeing train tours on weekends and public holidays, allowing local travellers and foreign tourists to enjoy the natural scenery of Shan State and view the historic Goteik Viaduct up close along the PyinOoLwin–Goteik–PyinOoLwin and Taunggyi routes. The Kalaw–Aungban–Heho–Shwenyaung round-trip (Heho) Bawa Thanthaya scenic train tour is run as a package through the charter of a special train.
