Myanmar Firefighters Win First and Third Place at Singapore Global Firefighters and Paramedics Challenge 2025

It is reported that the Myanmar Fire Services Department won awards at the international-level Singapore Global Firefighters and Paramedics Challenge (SGFPC) 2025, held in Singapore.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) hosted the Singapore Global Firefighters and Paramedics Challenge (SGFPC) 2025 at the Singapore Expo from November 19 to 21. Firefighters from 17 countries—including host country Singapore, as well as Myanmar, Australia, Bangladesh, Brunei, Indonesia, Mongolia, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Vietnam, the Philippines, Thailand, South Korea, Qatar, the UAE, Hong Kong, and Macau—participated in the competition.

Representing Myanmar, a team from the Myanmar Fire Services Department, led by U Myat Thu, Director General of the Fire Services Department under the Ministry of Home Affairs, competed in the events. In the international “Rip-It-Off” vehicle accident rescue competition, 20 teams from 16 countries took part, and the Myanmar Fire Services Department team won third place with a record time of 8 minutes and 14 seconds.

In the “Brave Heart” relay challenge, the team featuring members of the Myanmar Fire Services Department won first place. According to the department, these achievements brought pride to the nation.
