Sixteen people, including singers and event organizers, have been arrested after a controversial performance at the Overflow Music Festivalheld at Eastern Yangon Event Park on November 2, 2025.
According to reports, singers Wink (aka Ye Wint Aung, “Bala”) and Bkho Bain (aka Thein Min Htike) led a group that used obscene language and distributed condoms to the audience while performing songs such as “5.55566.” Their actions reportedly caused public alarm and outrage.
The festival was organized by Tin Yadana Theint, Han Lin Htet, and Aung Khant Maw (aka Japan Gyi), who had arranged for the event to take place on November 1–2. The two singers, along with several others, performed and danced on stage while videos were recorded.
Police later launched a series of arrests between November 5 and 6, detaining multiple participants and organizers in different Yangon townships, including Tamwe, Yankin, and Thingangyun.
A total of 16 people—the two singers, 13 performers, and three organizers—have been charged under Section 505(b) and Section 294 of the Penal Code for causing public fear and using obscene language. Authorities said legal action is ongoing to ensure appropriate punishment.
