According to the list of candidates released by the Mon State Election Sub-Commission, the Pa-O National Development Party (PNDP) will contest in 11 constituencies across Mon State, including the Pa-O ethnic constituency.
A party official stated that the PNDP plans to conduct its election campaign in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Union Election Commission (UEC).
The first phase of the 2025 General Election will be held on Sunday, December 28, in five townships of Mon State — Kyaikto, Thaton, Mawlamyine, Chaungzon, and Kyaikmaraw — according to the UEC announcement. The second phase will take place in Bilin, Mudon, Thanbyuzayat, Ye, and Paung Townships.
In the upcoming election, a total of 256 candidates — including candidates from seven nationwide parties, two state-based parties, and one independent candidate — will compete in Mon State.
The nationwide parties are the Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP), National Unity Party (NUP), People’s Pioneer Party, National Prosperity Party, Myanmar Farmers Development Party, Shan and Ethnic Democratic Party (White Tiger Party), and People’s Party. The two state-based parties are the Mon Unity Party and the Pa-O National Development Party (PNDP).
