A woman jumped from the Nga Moe Yeik Bridge on the border of North Dagon and Thingangyun townships in Yangon, the same bridge where her husband also jumped to his death last week, according to the Wun Yan Muu Social Assistance Association.

The 23-year-old woman committed suicide by jumping off the bridge at around 11 am on September 13. When the social assistance association arrived, only her slippers and phone were found on the bridge.

"It is believed that the woman has gone underwater, and only her slippers and phone were found on the bridge," Ko Htun Myat Nyunt from the association wrote on social media.

The woman is a resident of South Dagon township, and her husband also committed suicide by jumping off the bridge last week.

"We also learned that her husband had also committed suicide by jumping into the water at the same location a week ago. I pray that they will be free from such a tragedy in their future lives," wrote Ko Htun Myat Nyunt.
