The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) is an important organization for global peace and development, and Myanmar will soon become a member of the SCO, said Acting President and Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC) Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.
On September 4, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing made the following remarks while meeting with scholars studying at the Shangri-La Hotel in Harbin, China.
He said that attending training courses and studying in the China has brought great benefits to the country, and that relations between Myanmar and China are currently in the best possible condition. The SSPC Chairman said he attended the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit 2025 Plus and the military parade to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. The Shanghai Cooperation Organization is an important organization for world peace and development, and Myanmar will soon become a member of the SCO.
The SSPC Chairman said that it is necessary to learn the best according to the subjects taught during the training and after completing the studies, it is needed to share the subjects they have learned according to their departments when they return to Myanmar. Only then will it be beneficial for their country. Similarly, it is necessary to share the experiences of studying in China, the development of living standards, and the living environment. During their studies in China, it is also necessary to study and master the Chinese language to the extent possible.
The SSPC Chairman said that preparations are underway to hold free and fair elections in the country in December. They are making arrangements to ensure that all eligible voters can vote during the elections. Myanmar electronic voting machines will be used to prevent voter fraud and irregularities. He also urged the students to take care of their health while studying abroad and to complete their studies successfully.
The meeting was attended by the Secretary and Joint Chief Executive General Ye Win Oo, members of the Commission, Union Ministers, Myanmar Ambassador to the China U Tin Maung Swe, and students.
