Students, departments, and civil society organizations in Hintada jointly conducted an earthquake disaster drill, according to sources.

The drill was organized by the Hintada District Disaster Management Department at No.4 Basic Education High School on the afternoon of July 18.

"In the past, a school in Hintada Township collapsed due to wind and children died. A school collapsed after an earthquake several years ago. Recently, although there have been no casualties, there have been disasters. Therefore, it is beneficial to provide more awareness. Now, relevant departments and organizations are conducting awareness lectures on what to be careful of and what to do in the event of an earthquake. In addition to awareness, we also conducted practical role-playing exercises. The students themselves participated in the steps to be safe during an earthquake and how to evacuate, the search and rescue operation performed by the fire brigade, first aid provided by the Red Cross, the help provided by the district social assistance association to transport them to the health department, and examination and treatment provided by the health department to send the patients to the hospital. The Disaster Management Department also provided necessary awareness," said U Kyaw Myint Oo, head of the Hintada District Red Cross Unit.

A large number of departments, teachers, students, civil society organizations, and the public participated in the earthquake disaster drill.
