The Ministry of Health has announced that, during the week from 8:00 p.m. on June 29 to 8:00 p.m. on July 6, a total of 839 COVID-19 test samples were examined, resulting in three new laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 cases.
The Ministry continues to carry out COVID-19 surveillance activities regularly. During the same period, while three new cases were found, the positivity rate was recorded at 0.36 percent. It was also reported that, within the reporting period, there were no severe cases, no patients requiring intensive care, and no deaths due to COVID-19.
In comparison, during the previous week from 8:00 p.m. on June 15 to 8:00 p.m. on June 22, a total of 2,199 test samples had been examined, which led to the detection of 29 new laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 cases.
Currently, there is no concerning situation related to COVID-19 infections or deaths within the country. However, to prevent possible outbreaks, the Ministry urges the public to continue practicing personal preventive measures. Additionally, priority COVID-19 booster vaccinations will be administered to high-risk groups, including older adults aged 60 and above, people with diabetes, chronic lung diseases, cancer patients, and pregnant women beyond three months of pregnancy. The Ministry encourages these groups to receive their booster shots.
