During a visit to Buryatia in Russia, Myanmar’s Chairman of the State Administration Council, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, said there is strong potential for cooperation between Myanmar and Buryatia, especially in the railway and aircraft manufacturing sectors. He visited the LVRZ train repair plant and earlier toured an aircraft factory, expressing interest in collaboration across these industries.
In an interview with local media, he highlighted shared Buddhist cultural values as another foundation for cooperation, mentioning opportunities in healthcare, education, and agriculture. The Buryatia regional leader echoed this optimism, pointing to existing partnerships, such as helicopter exports to Myanmar and plans for future collaborations in aviation and logistics.
He also discussed ongoing registration efforts in Myanmar for medical technology from Buryatia's Rapid Bio and mentioned a company presentation by TMH Holding regarding their products.
On education, the Buryatia leader noted interest in language exchange programs. Plans include bringing Russian language teachers to Myanmar and potentially opening a Myanmar language department at a university in Buryatia. He also highlighted his past visit to Myanmar and the warm welcome he received.
Finally, both sides expressed interest in strengthening tourism, inspired by the mutual appreciation for each country’s culture and natural beauty.
