A high-level Myanmar delegation led by Chairman of the State Administration Council and Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, who is currently visiting the Republic of Belarus, toured the Belmedpreparaty Pharmaceutical Factory in Minsk on June 26.

Upon arrival, the Senior General and his delegation were welcomed by Belarusian Minister of Health Mr. Aliaksandr Khajayeu and senior factory officials. The delegation observed medical treatment support vehicles displayed outside the facility and visited booths showcasing Belarusian-manufactured pharmaceuticals and medical equipment.

During the visit, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing held discussions with Minister Khajayeu and factory representatives in the factory’s meeting hall. They exchanged views on expanding bilateral cooperation in the health sector, including the use of Belarusian pharmaceuticals and medical equipment in Myanmar. Both sides also discussed plans for future technical talks between Belmedpreparaty officials and Myanmar health authorities.

The Senior General toured the factory’s production areas, learning about the manufacturing process through detailed explanations provided by officials. Located in Minsk, Belmedpreparaty is the largest pharmaceutical factory in Belarus, employing over 2,100 staff in its operations. Belmedpreparaty Pharmaceutical Factory was established in the early 1990s by the Belarusian Ministry of Health and the German investment and trade company ITM Investment-Trade-Marketing GmbH to import Western medicines for health problems caused by the Chernobyl nuclear reactor accident.
