According to a statement from the Ministry of Health, a total of 52 people tested positive for COVID-19 within a one-week period, marking an increase in cases compared to recent weeks.
Between June 8 and June 15, 2,285 suspected cases were tested, out of which 52 were confirmed positive, representing a positivity rate of 2.28%. No deaths were reported.
In the previous week, from June 1 to June 8, 2,154 people were tested, with 31 confirmed cases—a positivity rate of 1.44%, with no reported fatalities.
From May 25 to June 1, there were 17 confirmed COVID-19 cases, all from various townships within the Yangon Region.
The data indicates a noticeable rise in COVID-19 infections in recent weeks.
