Due to a fire caused by a powerful earthquake at Mandalay University, university entrance exam answer sheets from four regions were destroyed, and affected students will be required to retake the exams, according to an announcement by the Ministry of Education.

The destroyed answer sheets were from students in Mandalay Region, Kachin State, Sagaing Region, and the Nay Pyi Taw Council Area.

The retake exams will be held from June 16 to June 21, the Ministry stated. 

The requirement for students from the affected areas to retake their entrance exams has sparked criticism within the education community since the initial news of the destruction surfaced.

Students must collect their exam admission cards from their respective examination supervisors between June 1 and June 15, the Ministry added.
