The Department of Meteorology and Hydrology has issued a warning that due to the intensity of converging wind waves from the west and east, isolated heavy rainfall may occur in some regions between the afternoon of April 19 and April 21.
As an out-of-season rainfall alert, the department noted that the movement of wind waves from the west and east, along with strong convective cloud formation, could lead to scattered rain in Nay Pyi Taw, Mandalay Region, Bago Region, Magway Region, lower Sagaing Region, Rakhine State, and southern Shan State, while Yangon Region, upper Sagaing Region, Ayeyarwady Region, Tanintharyi Region, Kachin State, Kayah State, Kayin State, Chin State, Mon State, and northern and eastern Shan State may experience frequent to widespread thundershowers, with some areas receiving isolated heavy rainfall.
Due to these conditions, the public is advised to be cautious of accompanying weather phenomena such as strong winds, thunderstorms, lightning, hail, and potential landslides during the unseasonal rains.
