
An ambulance traveling from Yangon to Nay Pyi Taw overturned at Milepost 97 on the Yangon-Mandalay highway on March 16, at around 8:00 am killing three, including 18-year-old volunteer.
"The ambulance was transporting a patient from Yangon to Nay Pyi Taw. At Milepost 97, it overturned. The patient and their caregiver died at the scene. An 18-year-old female volunteer from our organization, who was also in the vehicle, was taken to Yangon General Hospital but succumbed to her injuries around 8:00 pm," said Ko Naing, the chairman of the Aung Zeya Rescue Team.
Following the accident, EMS Myanmar Channel provided immediate assistance, and partner rescue organizations transported the injured to Yangon General Hospital's emergency department.
Members of the Aung Zeya Rescue Team have since expressed their deep sorrow over the passing of the young female volunteer.
