
At the 6th BIMSTEC Summit held in Bangkok, Prime Minister and Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC), Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, met with Sri Lankan Prime Minister H.E. Dr. Harini Amarasuriya on April 4 to discuss ways to deepen bilateral cooperation.
The meeting took place at the Shangri-La Hotel, where both leaders exchanged condolences and support in light of the recent devastating earthquake in Myanmar. Prime Minister Amarasuriya expressed Sri Lanka’s deep sorrow over the tragedy and affirmed her country’s commitment to assisting Myanmar’s ongoing relief efforts.
Senior General Min Aung Hlaing thanked Sri Lanka for its timely support and emphasized the longstanding friendship and collaboration between the two nations. The leaders went on to discuss strengthening cooperation in key areas including the economy, defense, education, science, and technology.
