The Myanmar Social Relief Organization (Mandalay Region Office) is conducting a search for more than 100 monks who are trapped in the collapsed U Hla Thein Beikhman in Mandalay.

At the time of the earthquake, over 200 monks were inside the Beikhman taking an exam when the building collapsed, leaving many trapped under the rubble.

The earthquake caused significant damage in Mandalay, leading to numerous casualties, though the exact number of deaths has yet to be confirmed. In addition to the Beikhman collapse, various apartments, hotels, and condos were also severely damaged, resulting in further fatalities. The search and rescue efforts continue as authorities work to locate those still trapped.
