State Administration Council Chairman and Prime Minister, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, has emphasized the need for systematic security measures across regions and states to ensure the general elections are held smoothly in December.

During a speech at the National Planning Commission meeting in Naypyidaw on March 24, the Senior General reiterated that strong security measures would also promote foreign and domestic investment, aiding national development. He urged all stakeholders to work collectively for the success of national plans.

He highlighted that strengthening political, economic, and defense capacities is crucial. Lessons from past projects should be analyzed to implement practical solutions. Budget utilization must be efficient, ensuring resources are directed effectively toward national growth.

Since the council assumed control, efforts have been made to enhance national development, particularly in agriculture, livestock, industry, and energy sectors. Related commissions have been established to accelerate progress in these areas.

Despite development initiatives, sabotage activities have caused damage to infrastructure, including roads, bridges, power plants, schools, and hospitals, hindering progress in unstable regions. The government is committed to overcoming these obstacles.

For the 2025-2026 fiscal year, priority will be given to hydropower projects, solar-powered irrigation, and agricultural investments. Vocational training and job creation will also be supported through allocated budgets.

Furthermore, housing projects for civil servants and displaced people will be developed. Ministries and regional governments must ensure planned projects effectively benefit citizens and are completed on time.

To achieve national objectives, government agencies must work collaboratively and align with policies. The government will continue its people-centered approach to stability and development.

Additionally, measures will be intensified to curb illicit trade and illegal resource extraction while promoting domestic production to reduce reliance on imports. Enhanced regulatory efforts will be implemented across all states and regions.

The Deputy Prime Minister and other officials also provided economic growth forecasts, expecting a 2.9% increase in GDP for the fiscal year, with a targeted 3% growth for 2025-2026. Population estimates and productivity figures were also reviewed to guide future planning.

National planning officials discussed the current fiscal year’s progress and the drafting of the 2025-2026 National Planning Law, ensuring alignment with long-term economic goals.
