The Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC), the Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, in his Mon State Day Message, called on ethnic armed organizations (EAOs) and relevant organizations to stop any actions that cause suffering to the people and endanger the country for the sake of the country and the people.
The SAC Chairman made the following statement in his message sent to mark the 51st anniversary of Mon State Day fell on March 19.
In his message, it said he would like to inform the ethnic armed groups and relevant organizations and individuals involved in armed conflicts and violence today to stop their actions that will cause suffering to the people and endanger the country for the sake of the country and the people, and urges all citizens to unite and protect the country, based on the spirit of the Union.
In addition, the conflicts and armed conflicts that are taking place today are not only based on political differences, but also on the desire to stand apart and putting selfish interests first. In various regions, the attacks by ethnic armed groups and PDFs have destroyed the state’s infrastructure and the lives and property of the local people, causing them to suffer. Every citizen should be aware that there are various supports and incitements from both inside and outside the country behind the violence, and it is time to learn a lesson from the suffering that comes from the breakdown of unity.
In addition, our country is starting to move towards a country that practices a democratic system of justice, freedom, and equality in accordance with the wishes of the people. In establishing a democratic country, unity, discipline, respect for the law, and full knowledge are essential for all citizens. Unity strengthens the strength of the country and promotes development and national interests. If we look at the modern and developing countries, we can see that they are built firmly with the strength of unity, it said.
In line with the saying that real power of a country lies within it, we must build the country with our own strength. However, in the current situation of our country, we cannot build it, but we are trying to protect it with all our strength, so stability and peace are weak and development is still far away. The SAC is determined to hold a fair, dignified, fair and just general election, which is the foundation for the people's desire for a true and disciplined multi-party democratic system. The SAC will continue to work to hand over the responsibility of the state to the government that emerges from the free and fair multi-party democratic general election in accordance with the five-point road map, the SAC Chairman stated in his message.
Similarly, he said he would like to urge all ethnic people to work together to ensure peace and stability throughout the country, which is necessary for the holding of elections. The basic needs of all ethnic people at this time are to live, work, eat and drink in peace in accordance with the law, and to develop their lives with good health and happiness. The government is also working towards national unity and peace in the Union to meet the basic needs of the people and to bring about sustainable and balanced development that all ethnic brothers and sisters can enjoy equally, the message from the SAC Chairman states.
In order to effectively implement these processes in a short time, he said he would like to strongly urge experts and professionals from all sectors and ethnic people to actively cooperate with the government, it said.
