The 7 EAO Alliance, a coalition of seven ethnic armed organizations, has discussed intensifying efforts to expand the domestic political framework, according to sources.
The 7 EAO Alliance announced that its leadership meeting (3/2025) was held on January 14. The meeting was chaired by the alliance's leader, General Yawd Serk, as the first chairperson, and its deputy leader, Naing Aung Min, as the second chairperson.
During the meeting, the alliance reviewed the current political, military, and economic situations, as well as the various social hardships faced by the public on a daily basis. They discussed preparations to navigate the immediate political crisis and align actions with the potential political developments in 2025. Additionally, they emphasized the need for inclusive political dialogues involving all stakeholders.
The 7 EAO Alliance also released a statement highlighting discussions on advancing the peace process, enhancing coordination and cooperation among EAOs, and intensifying efforts to expand the domestic political framework. They pledged to continue striving toward these goals.
A total of 22 attendees, including leadership members, secretariat members, and coordinators from various working committees, participated in the meeting.
