A 55-year-old father and his 13-year-old daughter, who were working in Mae Sot Township on the Myanmar-Thailand border, were killed on September 1, sources said.

In the incident, a 13-year-old Myanmar girl, the daughter of U Maung Aye, a Myanmar citizen, who was working near a park in Mae Sot Township, got into a fight with her ex-boyfriend Maung Soe (aka) Joe, and the young woman and her father were stabbed to death. They were taken to the hospital by the concerned policemen and social rescue, but both died.

Regarding the highest level of inter-Myanmar violence, U Moe Gyo, Chairman of the Joint Action Committee for Burmese Affairs (JACBA), said, “It's very sad to see that Myanmar workers in overseas are acting in the ultimate form of aggression based on drugs or debt on their own people. Migrant workers have to behave in such a way that Thai citizens do not feel sorry for them. Blood ties to each other. They can quarrel and fight, but there is no need to commit the assault to the point of murder. Keep each other in check. Such cases cannot be compensated for. It's like flipping over and spitting. That's why I would like to say that they should respect each other before committing something seriously.”

According to the criminal law of Thailand, action will be taken against the perpetrator, Maung Soe (aka) Joe.
